Going to buy a new truck!!!
single worst move you could ever make in an off-road vehicle. I had a Furd diesel and have pulled more than one out the mud or sand.
Front end is too damn heavy... Now for a trail truck, it's fine and probably a great rock climber with all that low end, but the front sinks like a stone in mud and sand.
I saw one pulled off the beach while it's rear tires weren't six feet off the pavement, sunk beyond the axles in the front and the idiot just kept giving more gas in 4WD getting buried deeper! Funny thing is, this chick in a little pontiac sunbird convertible went around him and on her merry way down the beach!!! LMAO!!!
I agree with the suv's, I had an 87 S10 blazer that was a dog but pretty good in the mud and my wife used to have an 02 durango that was better than my truck in the snow. I dont know if it is a better weight distrubution or what.
Sup dudes, sry for the late post back, internet went down.... But as for the trucks, i had a 95 wrangler with 35s on it and loved it, it was my daily driver/ off roader... i lived in a small town at the time so i didnt have far to drive it on the streets, but it went amazing off road better than my buddys big deisels at the time, short wheel base, cant get them SOB's stuck... But even though i know small suvs goes better, i still want a big power wagon, just love the look of them and as for small places it wont fit, thats why i got my wheeler
.... as for plans when i get her i am gonna strip her all the way down, sand blast the frame and rhino line it, replace pretty much everything but the frame and body... yes its gonna be expensive but like i said before its gonna get down litttle and little every pay check!!! thanks for all the info guys keep it comin!!! im writin stuff down as i go... Below is a pic of a 1980 power wagon close to the setup i want, what u guys think?

Hammer is right...get a 1/4 ton or the like...
Like I mentioned in your other post, I bought an Toyota Pickup (before they had the tacoma) with SFA and the v6. The engine is super reliable and when geared right (cost me 600 for both sets with installation) I can turn 37s over on dry concrete. Now I wont lie, it has a hard time going over 60 or so, but how often do you need to go over 60?
Ive put some money into it, but the trucks are so popular that there are parts everywhere, *******ly no electronics, and it fits down some ATV trails. They made a 4cyl diesel (naturally aspirated I think) but that with a cheap turbo would be pretty badass
All in all I have around 8K in it...and I have more than that in my fourwheeler and its not street legal
This is it before I finished the flat diamond plate bed
