Default Need some help..

Well guys, I've been looking around for some help with getting my truck completely level, and I already have drop shackles on but I still lack just a little bit even with it settling, and I came across a few people who put on leaf spring clamps. I wanted to know where I can find these, because the only ones I can find are the Mr. Gasket clamps, and I'm not sure if it's a universal fit or if it's just for certain types of suspension. I'm retarded when it comes to suspension....so could somebody please lad me in the right direction??

Oh and the reason why I'm asking this is because I'm not sure if I'm ready to tackle taking the O/L spring out, I might need it, and as far as I know clamps are very cheap.

Any idea how hard they'd be to put on?

Oh and would the Mr. Gasket clamps work or not?

Pull the O/L spring and if you find you need it, put a pair of helper bags on it. I haven't had a O/L for a long time and have never needed it. All the trucks running around with flip kits don't use O/L springs. And if you find you really want the O/L re-installed. Put it back on the spring pack. Good luck...

Here's my next question lol.....How would I go about taking the O/L out? If I just have someone explain it to me, I can get it done. What would be the easiest way?

jack up the rear, take the u-bolts off the axle, and take the O/L off, reassemble. shouldnt be too hard to figure out once you are down there looking at it.

Like John said, lift the rear of the truck until the tires clear. Use jack stands under the frame. Remove the rear tires. Put a jack under the axle and put a load on it. undo the shock bottoms. Undo the U bolts, lower the axle with the jack. I used a C clamp on the spring pack, remove the center bolt and replace the center bolt with a longer threaded bolt. Remove the C clamp, undo the threaded bolt to release the spring tension. Remove the O/L spring and re-install the threaded center bolt. Tighten to draw the spring pack back together. Clamp again using the C clamp, replace the threaded bolt with the shorter original center bolt and trim the alignment pin flush with the spring pack (hand grinder). Jack the axle back up tight to the spring with a load on it. re-install the U bolts, re-install the shock bottoms. Put the wheels back on and sit her back on the ground. She will be dropped the thickness of the O/L spring, something like 1/2" to 3/8's of an inch. Good luck....
