Man this seems like alot of work, would be awsome if it works for you......good luck. I think the spectre filters have an inlet on the end of the cone so you can hook up a tube directly to them, if you go the pvc route maybe give that a look. I seen just the filters at autozone for around $30.

I would look at getting A diff hood, I like the venting type, Ya know with the raised up hood near the windshield. the theory being that air goes through the grill yhen engine compartment then out the windshield side,.
