I think overall, the reason he wants different tires is just to make the truck higher. I just didn't know if tires alone could do that or if the truck would have to be lifted in order to make it sit higher?

You guys are so helpful thank you so, so much!!!
You can go up to a 33" in diameter tire the way it sits as is, to go any wider like a 305 wide or something you will need spacers to push the wheels out a bit for clearance. 33"s won't increase your ride height too much so I would suggest the level, all it consists of for the 2wds is a plastic coil spring spacer that sits on top of the spring on the front suspension.

To add to Shilo's comment you do a 2" level and it makes the front sit level with the back. You can either get a spacer for the coil on the front or you can get a whole new coil to replace the one you have. You will also need longer shocks for the front since it is now 2" higher. Here's a link to the longer coils I'm talking about, this is the kit I bought.

Here's a link with the same company for the shocks. You would need two and their part number is 8117 at the bottom of the page for 2wd's.

Here's a pic of my truck leveled with 33" Nitto all terrain tires.

My point is that if OP is up North here then I would recommend any Minute Muffler as they are great at creating whatever you need for custom exhaust. I also recommend the Magnaflow Muffler too.

Minute muffler is ok for fabbing up, but aviod any dynomax muffler, ie ultra flow. My orginal dual ex convesrion was done by minute muffler on macled trail in calgary, I could not keep a dynomax ultra flow for longer than 6 month, after three warenty replacements, I went to calgary muffler and now running two ultra flows.

any muffler that has fiber glass packing, willl start to rattle inside the muffler, I'm not convinced that running one muffler with two inlets and two out lets is as good as running two free flowing mufflers.

remove the y pipe, run 2 2.5 in mufflers is the way to go, what brand of mufflers will make or brake your ex system, I don't have good words for mangnaflow or dynomax.

Agree with Dynomax statement. Originally thats what I got and after 2 years it sounded like crap so I removed it and got the Min.Muff. in Medicine Hat to install my current stainless 18" magnaflow (frowthru). Quite pleased with that 3" set-up with the 2 x 2 1/2 tailpipes and Headers-Y. It is as quiet as stock now on idle and only throaty at wot. Not sure if you can run 2 mufflers on a 1500 4x4 as the gas Tank takes up the left side, if its doable I'd love to see pics but with that a fellow might need longtubes.

THiers room for two mufflers, they have to be mounted on the side, on the flat thiers no room. I'm done with swapping out mufflers, I never made the right chioce to start with, Calgary muffler installed two ultra flows ( thier brand muffler )last year and at some point I'm going to get my rear tail pipes redone with mandrell bends and a more agressive pair of mufflers...
