Pleae put your thinking caps on and Help!
Good Saturday to you all
I've got an 07 Ram 1500 ThunderRoad 5.7L
Since my cigar lighter went out about 3 weeks ago, my vehicle keeps blowing one particular fuse. My left side park lamps (15A). I also had my Alpine Deck, Dual 10" subs and a 1000w Amp installed around the same time. I've gone through 6 fuses in the past two weeks, its been to the dealer once. They said it was the fuse and bulb, replaced both, and 3 days later, low and behold the fuse blows again. I'm just about of warranty. I'm thinking about replacing the cigar lighter mechanism to see if that's the case. Can anyone else think of why this specific fuse and circuit keeps blowing and nothing else? The bulb is fine, it just stops working when the fuse blows. I've tried going a step further with a 20A fuse, but that blows more quickly then the 15A fuse. Anyone got any ideas???
thanks in advance!!!

who did your deck install? they could of pinched a wire ...or a couple wires.
kind of makes sense that it started around the same time you had your deck put in... i'd leave the fuse out to prevent any fires until you get it fix..---- better safe then sorry

sounds like an install problem to me also...check the ground good, as well as the power cable along the entirety of the line...check the voltage running through your truck (ground) and if you have an amperage running through the body of the truck there is a wire with a nick touching bare metal under the carpet or something
Best buy did the Amp, RCA, and subwoofer install. Car Tunes (Local Audio Shop) did the deck install. I'm thinking I'm gonna have to pay a trip to Car tunes... unfortunately. They take forever.

take fuse(s) out of power wire to amp to eliminate that as the cause. if you take power away from amp and still have problem move on to cigar light...take power away from that and see if you still have issue....process of elimination....+1 on staying with recommended fuse size. IMO I'd also check remote wire for amp but I am leaning towards HU as cause!
Thanks for everyone's help. I took it back to Best Buy, of course they found nothing wrong, but the installer there was probably the coolest person right now. I asked him if there was anyway he could point me in the right direction or help me find the short where its coming from. About 30 min later, I found out that both my little 194 lights for the license plate and their housings were cut out and removed from my truck. The installer said there was my issue and didn't charge me a dime! Apparently the preivous owner had LED's in them. The wires were just dangling underneath the rear bumper and when i hit a bump, touched the ground and completed the circuit. I installed the new housings and lights last night and ran them constantly for 6 hours. Not one blown fuse. Thanks for the help guys!!!!
