Default INSURANCE cost

whats up? I just wanted to know what you guys all pay for insurance for your 3rd Gen Rams? I checked on Geico and got a rate of $150/month for the Reg Cab, short box, 5.7 Hemi, 17"s, SLT, etc. Thats full coverage and the highest premiums you can go. I made sure I punched in the VIN number to give me the exact truck in the quote.

So, no matter what style you have (QC, Reg Cab, 4.7, 5.7, 5.9, etc.) let me know what you guys are paying either monthly or the over all term of the premium (6 months, 1 year...). I just want to get a general idea so I know I'm not over paying. And considering I'm pay $220/month right now for 2000 Dakota is strange, but since I got that insurance, I also turned 20, clean driving record, great credit. So I checked what insurance would be now on the 2000 Dak and it came out to be about $130/month compared to my $220. So I figure that $150 isn't bad at all for the new Ram.

$380/6mths $1000 deductable State Farm.

My advice:
turn 25, get married, have kids, no tickets or accidents, buy a house and insure it with the same company.

Then you'll get good insurance rates. Ive found with good reason.
Since all that has happened, Im a very boring person.

I'm 20, live in Wisconsin Rapids, WI (snow country). No tickets or accidents of any kind (clean driving record), valid license (expires 2/23/12). Flawless credit (even prepayments), this will be my 5th vehicle. I'm also paying for a $500 deductible instead of the $1000. High end on all premiums (collision, comprehensive, underinsured, uninsured, property, etc.).

So do you think that $150/month is bad for all my info above?
The truck is this:

2005 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Reg Cab 4x4
-5.7 Hemi
-5 speed Auto with Tow/Haul
-Flame Red Clear Coat
-Monotone Paint
-Premium Cloth 40/20/40 Bench Seat
-Dark Slate Gray Interior
-Fog Lamps
-Electric Shift-on-the-Fly P/Time T/Case
-Trailer Tow Group
-Light Group
-CD player
-Heated mirrors
-Temperature/Direction/MPG/etc. computer

and other things too, just what I took a quick glimpse at!

Until your 25 and married, expect to get screwed on insurance. They wanted me to pay $2900/year in Texas cause I am going to be living in a border town (high theft rate). Luckily I got a "deal" from my insurance company and I only pay $1800/year ($900/six months, $150/month) so you aren't doin bad. I'm 24 and single with 3 tickets.

$61.10 monthly --- $366.64 every 6 months for Full Coverage from USAA with a $500 deductable.

They consider the household driving record

Last 3 years,

1. Teenage Son had 1 at fault multi-vehicle accident (totaled my car) - Rates for his car = $101 monthly for liability
2. Wife had 1 at fault multi-vehicle accident (totaled her vehicle) - Rates on her 04 Grand Cherokee = $52.30 monthly for coverage
3. I was hit by a hit and run driver (wiped out my QC Dakota 4x4)

The last two were a month apart almost exactially 1 year ago.

I would say $150 a month seems high even though you are under 21

Mine almost DOUBLED when I moved from rural Georgia to Miami/Ft Lauderdale area. Wife and I pay 1100/6mo on 2 vehicles with full coverage and 500 deductable. No tickets (knock on wood). $150/mo for full coverage on that vehicle considering your age is not too bad. Factors that go into figuring these rates are crazy. From theft rates to average medical expenses per acident with the vehicle, equipment (ABS, Side airbags, etc) to past drving history to age, etc
