2007 5.7L loss of power at 4500RPM
Hello Fellow Ram Owners...
I have a 2007 dodge ram 5.7L Hemi that i love to death. Just on the way home, i went to pass someone who was doing 63MPH and of course i let the horses loose. turns out that when i did the RPM needle went to 4500 at 65MPH and the truck had a massive loss of power. I had backed off the throttle and let the truck idle down. the engine was unresponsive to the throttle and a red warning light was flashing under the RPM gauge. after pulling over to the side of the road, i shut the truck off and restarted it again. The truck acted normal and i attempeted it again, same issue.
thoughts? questions?
this is the first time this has done it. Current mods are only a cold air intake.

Yep mine did this too the other day. However I was just cruising at about 110 km/h and yeah lost all power. Did a restart and all cool.
Whats up?
No codes either just the red lightning bolt.

YUP! that is the same thing that im getting.... not even one damn code
That red lightning bolt icon is your warning light for your electonic throttle control. Check, pull and clean your throttle body. If that doesn't work, I would put money on it, that it's your throttle positioning sensor (TPS).
I could give that a try, i placed an appointment at the dealer for wednesday for them to look at it. is the TPS a user replacable part?
UPDATE: I have successfully remedied the problem. i installed the stock air cleaner and filter. it seems to have repaired the issue.
