I like the 20's BUT if you are doing alot of offroading, then the 18's would give you more air down capabilities and more protection of rim damage. I run the 20's and have NO issues!!

Good point. I also like how the stock 20's look though. SMKNRAM you said you have some minor rub with the 35x12.5 mud grapplers and just wondering if you have heard of them fitting with a wheel spacer. If this would work it be tempting.

i Had Mudd Grapplers, 33's. Got about 20k outa them, but i was both pavment and offroad, and i think the combo really decreased the mileage i woulda got. I also towed a good amount with them. I wouldnt buy them again unless i was only going to drive it one or the other offroad or pavement only. because i think all the rocks and small cuts they get from offroading eats the tread once your back driving on the highway.
There a really Heavy Tire. take alot of abuse offroad. but at 300 per tire, i dont want to be buying tires every year.
Toyos are really over priced, but i know a few ppl with 3-4 years on them, and 35-40k miles.
Hankook tires offer a pretty nice looking MT Dynapro, and are decently priced, and my local Les shwab manager had a set on a 05 Chevy and got 40K miles with good rotation, this was about 90% street.. and the tires still had tread on them when he bought his new set.
But the choice is yours

I also am a fan of the monsters and don't see them as much as the rockstars. I will have to check out the diesel's never seen them before. Any one else have an opinion on the Hankook MT or even the Cooper stt?

Mud Grapps are a GREAT off road tire, but they will wear fast on pavement and are LOUD.

As far as fitment, if you plan on ANY off-roading at all, then don't do 35" tires with just a level! If there is rub at full lock then how much articulation do you honestly think you are going to get when driving off road?

Unless you are a pavement queen and are just doing this for looks, then get 33's OR put an actual lift on your truck.

The good move is to get 18" wheels (17s would be even better) as the more sidewall you have on your tires the more flex you'll get off road. 20" wheels with 33" or even 35" tires does not give much sidewall...

I loved the aggressive look of the Mud Graps. Over Priced they are! Mine lasted 50,000 miles with proper rotation (every 3,000 miles) I will get them again when I can afford them. If you have rubbing issues on your inner plastic wheel well liner you can go to Home Depot and buy a $15 heat gun and remold them so they won't rub.

Well I'm putting the level on this weekend and the 35x12.5 mud grapplers are on the way. Hopefully these bad boys fit well lol. Gonna hit the local mud hole as soon as I get them. BTW she ain't no pavement queen!

Just spent 2 hours of my morning putting on 35" terra grapplers on my friends f-150. Lots of trimming involved. Now it has me wondering if 35x12.5 grapps will fit on my 05 ram with just a level. From what I hear the answer is yes but with slight rub. What exactly are they gonna rub on. Will they clear all the suspension components? What is the backspacing of a stock 20" rim and would a aftermarket rim with a 5 backspacing help at all.
