I decided to test fit my flares today before taking them to be painted. And should've known, there's a small problem. Looks like my Cummins badges have to go or be relocated about a 1/4" or so. I hate to lose them so I guess I'll relocate with double-sided tape. I assume this double-side tape is made by 3M, but is there a special type for automotive applications?
Yea its just the 3m automotive emblem tape...I bought a yard of it the other day at Oreillys for about $5.
Hopefully with this hot sun, you can get the badges off and most of the tape stay on the truck, getting that tape off the emblems would probably be fairly hard
The eraser wheel puts a pretty good pull on whatever its removing the glue from, I cant see being able to hold the emblem and remove the glue without messing the sides up

You cut the emblem off with fishing line (braid works great), then use the wheel to take the residue off the truck (takes about 15 seconds per emblem) and remove the residue from the back of the emblem with a razor blade...
When I took the dodge emblem off the tailgate of my truck I used the Meguires Cleaner/polish and it took it off easy and added a nice clean look too! Ha.
Using a blow dryer to heat it up helps a lot also.

Yeah, I used braid when I took off my 4x4, 3500 and RAM badges last week. Then used an eraser wheel on the truck, followed by Meguiars Scratch X2.0 to clear up the shadowing and partial outlines I could see....worked good - Thanks again AF HEMI for the recommendation. But I would bet cleaning the back of the badges off is going to be a bit tedious.
