Default True Dual Magnaflow??

Hey Guys,
I am getting ready to have true dual magnaflow exhaust put on my 2005 Ram 1500 Hemi. The shop is going to put me a setup together. They bend there own pipe. Anything I should know or ask for? Or just tell them I want true duals? I guess what I am asking is if you was getting ready to get this setup what would you ask for at the muffler shop?

Thanks!

Matt

Are they using stainless steel piping, bending the pipe w/ a mandrel bender or kink bending, how much do they want to do the job, and what does that include like tips, guarantee, etc.?

My recommendation is for you to know exactly what you want the shop to do. Have the truck in the air and go over everything with the exhaust guy before they start to make sure that what you want done can be done by that shop. Eliminate surprises and that way you won't be disappointed. Communication at every point is critical. And after the walk through with the mechanic. I would then be there as the work is being completed so that there is no deviation from the original plan. I'm a$$hole about details and demand that the work matches what I want to have done. Pipe work has to be done correctly or it just isn't acceptable. I think I have found a shop here locally that is up to the standard. And of course it is run by an old hot rodder that is still doing exhaust because that is his calling.

Thanks for the replys. They are saying around $400 for the job. The magnaflows that they are ordering (for some stupid reason they don`t stock magnaflows but they stock everything else) are $99 each and there will be 2 of them so that is half of the amount. All I know about the bending is that they can do it. I am not sure about how they bend it but I will ask for sure. It is suppose to be all stainless and it is suppose to include tips as well. This is my first Ram so I want the exhaust job to be perfect on it. I am really nervous about getting it done and it not being what I want. Everyone I talk to says this shop is great and that they know what they are doing :/

Thanks

You can probably get the mufflers a bit cheaper ordering them yourself through amazon or somewhere else. Are they putting in an x or h-pipe as well?

At a minimum find the mufflers, tips and x-pipe online and then pay them to install. Sounds like they aren't even planning on using an x-pipe or h-pipe.

I am not sure if they was planning on putting on an X or H pipe but I was going to tell them to when they do the work. The shop said the magnaflows are $99 each. Is that about right?

Good price for the 18" but I'm in Canada and ordered mine from the US ($99) and saved about 60 Bucks in the end. Some day I would like to try that True dual thing but will have to do some research as to me running them on the same side of the truck because of driver side fuel tank you need to consider some things/ask questions like, one y-pipe would certainly be longer, hence are the mufflers staggered and if so is installing an H-pipe or x-pipe justified or required to solve any potential balancing issues. Just thinking out load. VA is right, you need to discuss the plan with the dude that is performing the task.
