Default Signal light issues

I have a 06 1500 with the 5.7 L and my signals seemed to recently develop mind of there own and turn on the opposite signal from what I have pushed on the signal light control and sometimes they dont work at all. Keep in mind this is all very sporadic and can change from one stop light to another. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else, or any ideas as to why this could be doing that

Could be a ground or bad switch.

Dodge decided that it would be a great idea for every function on that stalk to use one wire to report your desired functions. Each switch changes the resistance and it's up to the computer to figure out what combination of switches are triggered. This all gets fubared when things get old & resistances change.

I'm in the same boat -- I should change the stalk before I rip it off!

It's called a multifunction switch if you are having trouble finding the item.
Good luck and let us know if this does not solve your problem as there could be other issue's.
If you are unsure how to change out the switch, use weedahoe's sig link service downloads to show you how. For anyone with problem on their '07 or '08, the 2006 service manuls are exactly the same as 2007&2008 The only change is very minor computer programming.

I had the same issue last summer. Take your truck to your dealer as there is a recall on affected parts. Mine was repaired for free.
