TIPM '06 Ram-Prevention Tips?
I have an '06 ram and recently had to replace the totally integrated power module on it because my driver side headlight went out. Needless to say I wasnt very happy about having a $800 potential repair for a headlight. I got a TIPM online for $250 and gonna have it programmed here shortly, so hopefully that works and saves me a boatload.
My question is, are there any tips/tricks, etc that can help prevent this from happening again? My basic understanding of what occurred in the first place is that the headlight went out, and shorted out the TIPM (instead of blowing a fuse like I expected it to be). Is that the correct assessment on why the TIPM was blown?
Can I install an inline fuse for each of the headlights to prevent this from happening again? If yes, anyone have a good link for the wiring of the '06 ram?
Thanks for any insight anyone has.
