Default Front Axle 07 4x4 4.7

hey guys,
my driver side front axle has went bad on my 07 4x4 ram... does anyone know if it can be rebuilt or if i jus need to replace it??? if i need to replace it, where can i get one other then the dealer??? none of my local shops have one....

thanks..

is it okay to drive w/ this going on??? it's making a horrible noise/clanking when i turn over a bump.... it rides fine down the street, but when i turn, it sounds like it's fixn to fall out....

Your CV's have gone out correct??? You can buy half shafts all over the place and replace it. Probably not worth it to rebuild it even if you find someone that will do it.

I would get it fixed asap. I don't know about the newer vehicles but as a younger kid, my mom had an Oldsmobile with the newest thing called CV's. It clicked and clicked and they replaced 'em and replaced 'em. Finally pulling into a tight parking space one day the passenger's side finally blew and the bearings shot everywhere like bullets. You would have thought she was in a fire fight. Keep in mind, this was the EARLY 80's though so things have probably changed.

I'm not sure where you can get one, but you need to make sure it's for an '06+ 1500. I had a buddy with an '03 break his 'coon hunting one night and went to the dealer for a new one to be installed. Half way home it slipped out! So back to the dealer it went, they couldn't figure out what the hell was going on, replaced it with another and it was loose!
Finally after farting around a couple days, the parts guy decides to make a call and finds out that they went to a slightly smaller (thinner) CV when they went to the coil over front ends, but Dodge kept the same part number!!!

Did they do both shafts or just one side? You could also look at the front wheel bearings.
