Arrow Cam Options

Okay well obviously the cat is out of the bag. yes i bought a cam i got a 6.1 for a really good deal and now im looking to get it reground. I emailed interia and they told me to go with the crazy spartan grind from the 6.1 core. it will have a 116 LSA with 214/214 duration 0.556/0.556. They said it will run on superchips just fine. Cost is 200 for the regrind.

Next options is the sidewinder. This was the cam I wanted but couldnt find anyone selling it and not paying 450 for a new one. Anyways the shop that bought out FRI will do the sidewinder grind for 250. Still waiting to get the specs on that one.

What do you guys think I should do? Which is better for the mods on my truck? I plan on staying with superchips and adding LTs, Efan, and ported tb.
Thanks for the help Bullet

keep in mind on either cam, the LSA will not change. only the lift and duration will change. because of the 6.1 grind, the lsa will be 116.

so its essentially the 214/214 556/556 vs whatever the lift and duration of the sidewinder is.

How do you want to drive it? The spartan grind will be more of a high revving cam, the sidewinder grind will be more low end torque. I have a stu sidewinder-esque grind and I love the low end torque. I could care less about winding out my motor. Which style are you?

Have you contacted comp about getting a sidewinder? They are the ones who grind them anyway so mayb you can get a good deal. My sidewinder has a comp cam card with a specific grind number they use for the sidewinder. As soon as I get over to my garage I will get you a copy of it.

Fri had their cams ground by comp, so chances are that this new version of fri will too. Might as well cut out the middle man and go directly to comp.
