Default Bumper Cover Removel

OK so maybe I'm an idiot. My wife would certainly agree with you. However, I just bought a receiver for my 2003 Ram 1500 SLT which requires the removal of the plastic bumber cover that covers the top of the bumper. I see the hold downs under there but for the life of me can't figure out how to release them. I don't want to force them in fear of breaking them and having part of the cover flapping in the breeze. So if anyone has any insight to this whether is a special tool or something I am missing please reply.
Thanks

you have to take the whole bumper out. it will make it A LOT easier. grab some pliers and squeeze the plastic snap-in pieces and at the same time pull the cover. i had to this because i droped my bumper and end it up putting the cover on top of the bumper. check it out

Would it be the same for the rear bumper? The covers are very different and from what I can see under there it doesn't look like a squeeze and push kinda of deal.

Yeah, I used needle nose to squeeze them at the same time as I was pushing them out....also used a flat head screwdriver to work it up....take your time.

You can also buy those replacements at places like Lowes if you do break them

I did mine with the bumpers in place and didn't have that much trouble with removing them. The local Advance Auto type stores nd Lowe's have plastic buttons if one gets broken. I had spares and didn't need them. Good luck.
