Default Forgot to turn on my e fan!

so i was running late for work when i get stuck in traffic, and all of a sudden i start seeing SMOKE! and im like WTF!!!! so i pulled over and it finnaly dinged on me to check my e fan switch (since i have it set up for manual on/off till i get a controller) and it was turned off! i looked at me temp and it was 3/4 of the way up! so i emmedietly turned the truck off and let it cool for about 40mins. when i got off i noticed that my radiator was leaking coolant BAD! after it cooled down i turned it on to see if it would even crank (thinking that it might have sealed up) luckaly it didnt..feeeew. and i listened closely for any pings or knock or any sort of damage and didnt here anything bad. BUT! as i stepped on the gas i noticed that i had to step on the peddle a little bit more than usual???? so i just had my co-worker pull me home (with a ford ) im gonna get a new radiator tommorrow though.
Do you guys think the engine took any damage from over heating?
all i need is a hug and some words of wisdom "Dont worry, Its gonna be alright"
:i con_hyper:

if the temp gauge was only 3/4 of the way maxed i dont see why you should have any damage, GET A FAN CONTROLLER!!! probably cheaper than a new radiator!

3/4 of the way up shouldn't have done any damage, but really! A controller with probe is all of about $30 at the auto parts store, no reason to run without one!!!

I'm tempted to run mine that way as well, with an optional manual off switch. Just so I can clean up the wiring a bit. I located the controller in a bit of an eye sore location.

Wouldn't hurt to check/change the oil either.

you're way over reacting dude. relax. nothing got damaged. dont buy a new radiator. just get a controller. the stepping on the gas a little harder is all in your head. there is NEVER a reason to get pulled home by a ford.

reset your pcm if you really think theres an issue with stepping on the gas a little more.

yes thats normal. your efan doesnt make the engine run cooler. it just keeps it from getting hot. if you want the engine to run cooler, get a 180 tstat
