Default Engine blocks

Are the 2002 ram blocks the same as the 2008 ram blocks?

Can you put 2008 ram heads on a 2002 ram block?

I am wonder because the 2002 ram has like 250 hp and 2008 ram as like 310 hp. I know the new head use 2 plugs. I am wonder if i can put new heads on and will see a an improvemt in hp?

It would help if you were specific on what engine. From what you have for numbers, I would assume it's a 4.7? So far as I know (4.7 gurus will chime in), there are radical differences between the 02 and the 08.

Yeah, I was going to say the same because an 02 big v8 came with a 5.9L and not a 5.
7 that a 08 would have come with.

Nick over on DT swapped later year heads on an earlier year block. IDK if he got any more power or not though.

If the blocks are about the same and the heads don't give you that much hp increase, are they getting the hp increase from just programming?
