Okay, so to go about adding the PS helper all I have to do is: get the PS helper and siphon pump, suck the PS fluid out of the pump, then fill up the pump with the PS helper to the fill line? My dodge uses transmission fluid for the PS fluid, is this going to change anything or is the PS helper universal?

The PS fluid repair stuff is universal. Most power steering pumps use ATF or similar fluid so your not eccentric from the majority of the crowd.

Just read the label of whatever you buy to make sure. Also, stick to name brands. Dont buy a $2 bottle of repair fluid. I Used the Lucas power steering stuff. Comes in the rear diff 1qt style bottles. I think it was like $14? i only used half of it, but it has done 2 cars for me. The foirst car went 2 years before I sold it and I'm on a year now with my exploder with the stuff.

You're probably on the right track with steering system. Just to be sure, have you check your belt and tensioner?

Bad belt tensioner and/or bad belt will make a squeeling sound. A whining sound is completely different and has to do with bearings.

I went into Autozone and got everything you suggested dirtydog, sucked out the old fluid and put in the new fluid. There is hardly any noise when i turn the wheel and i hardly have to put any muscle into, it works like its brand new. Thanks again for the help
