Default What is this noise???

So i was spending some time under my 05 QC hemi, and i noticed I hear this fairly loud "clank clank clank clank", that sounds as if it's coming from my oil pan. It increases in frequency if you step on the gas, but goes away once you hit 1000-1500rpms. It almost sounds like a bolt rattling around but in a consistent time with the engine. If I grab the sides of the oil pan I can basically feel the pulsing from the weird clanking. Anyone know what this might be?

Popdog,
Hate to say this, but it sounds like you have a real problem. If you can't isolate the noise you need to get a professional diagnosis, as it sounds more serious than the common hemi tick. Good luck...

Oil pressure is fine...i've only got 36k on her. Friend of mine thought it might be the main bearing when I described it.

Yeah...I'm not ruling it out of coming from a bearing in the trans and echoing through the crank case....anyone have some ideas on what kind of repair cost i'm looking at? it's not audible unless you're listening below the truck so it doesn't sound like anything is completely shot... listening from the engine bay she's pretty quiet
