Default Radio

I want to purchase a new HU but I still want to be able to use the radio controls on my steering wheel. Is there something specific I can purchase to add to any HU or do I have to purchase a certain radio for this to work?

Will the adapter work on any radio? How have you liked your new HU by the way? Do you use the video a lot? DOes it have navigation? I couldn't remember..Also, did you have to install somethign else or buy certain software if it does have nav?

came with a sd card that has the up to date maps for the navi . also i love watching **** while driving down the road so yes the dvd works well .
I like the back up cam the best . and the blue tooth that allows me to talk hands free threw the speakers .

and yes your truck will have a adapter that you can buy that will work on all aftermarket HU's

All you have to do is wire it properlly. The instructions say to hook the video power to the brakes but all you have to do is ground it and it thinks the parking break is always on. Not legal but hey, what fun thing is now days?

Thanks Noz-

Anyone have any nice flip out style HU they'd recommend?
I've been searchinga little on CL, they're a little expensive new! I'm not really interested in back-up camera or the blue tooth But if it comes with it then no complaints.

I saw an awsome one a few days ago but I didnt catch the brand. Instead of the screen flipping up it flipped down. It was a single din HU that looked like a double din. It was sooo amazing looking. Didnt really flip out and down it was just always there but you could detach the face plate.

I'm looking around on crutchfield now. My biggest worry was losing my steering wheel controls. Not that I'm really too lazy to reach out and hit a button but no since in having useless buttons...
