180 T-stat not opening?
I got the stat from moes performance. Hopefully they'll replace it if it is bad. I'm gonna try the boiling water trick and let you guys know the verdict. Thanks for all the suggestions!
Update: Took the t-stat out of my truck and put it in a pot of boling water.
Before:

After:

So we can see the t-stat works. I installed it in the truck with the jiggle valve at the 12 o' clock position like stated in the haynes manual. Pics below.

And then I proceeded to "burp" the cooling system by going by the instructions in the DIY https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...ystem-diy.html
I heard the first burp shortly after starting the engine and then filled the radiator with more coolant. After waiting for another burp or so the engine started getting really hot and the coolant in the rad started to spill over so I closed the rad and turned the engine off. I am now waiting for the engine to cool down. Is there anything I might have missed or done wrong? What should I do after it cools down?

Ok, the thremostat works. The problem is there isn't any coolant on the back of the thermostat to activate it. When I did mine it was also reluctant to purge. Squeezing the upper hose is how I finally got mine to burp. At this point I am sure you are no longer having fun with this, I would cut the wiggy to open the hole. The hole is just under an 1/8". So it is no big deal. Good luck...
Ok I got it all fixed and the truck runs cooler now. I think I figured out my problem.
1st time: When the truck started to get hot and the rad started to spill over I put the cap back on and turned it off preventing the rest of the air from escaping.
2nd time: I let the rad spill over some more and watched the temp gauge get hotter and hotter. Eventually the rad stopped spilling over and the temp started going down quick.
Took it for a test drive and saw how big of a difference it made. The temp gauge is now 1/4 the way there as opposed to almost 1/2 way.
Thanks for all the help guys!

I told myself I was going to stop at intake, tuner, exhaust.. I need a good hobby though.
After I put the e-fan in my truck I'm considering putting the same mods in my 2005 Mustang along with a 4.10 DTT, minus the e-fan since the Mustang already comes with one.
