Default random "no bus" and gauges go to zero, truck sitll runs fine tho

so every now and then my truck will loose all gauges, pope all the warning lights, low-fuel light, no seat-belt light ect..and the ODO reads "NO BUS", but if i shut off the truck it will go away and not come back for a day or two..normally happens right when i fire up, or after i get out of my street where i cant shut it off..so whats going on?

Sounds like a loose connection. The canbus wires control a number of items so you could have One loose wire or possibly a loose ground?
I'd have to go through some diagrams to find pinouts to check specific wires, but even then it's a shot in the dark. Hopefully your cluster isn't just goin bad??

sometimes the harness that plugs into the back of the connector wiggles a little loose.

Vibration from the engine, Check all your grounds for corosian and when pulling plugs look for the same, look for any part of your harness that may be chaffing. If your light switch burnt up on you disconnect it and check the harness for burnt/melted wires. That should be the most logical spot to start looking. Remember your truck is computer controlled, any shorts can shock the computers, so if this is the cause youll want to fix it asap before it costs more money.

Happened to my truck several times - came and went at random. The RPMs and MPH zero out, while the odometer flashes "NO BUS" and the idiot lights flash.
Fix was to replace the TIPM - so far it has not come back.

TIPM = Totally Integrated Power Module. Glorified fuse box beside the battery.
