Yeah it do, I have a 110v MIG and a 110v stick here in Florida. The MIG ain't bad, especially with a gas bottle hooked up to it, but the stick is useless, for me anyway. We have a 220v Lincoln stick up in the barn in Georgia and I can weld the **** out of anything with it, but when I use the 110v here I stick rods getting too close or can't maintain an arc because I get the rod tip more than a lousy 1/16" away from my work.
Anybody else have that much trouble using a 110v stick?

oh hell, I learned on a stick, but on a generator/stick that was huge at my old man's awning and canopy shop. Stick welding ain't the issue, I never have a problem with 220v, but to me a 110v is just impossible to maintain an arc with...
I've used 'em all but a TIG, I carry a gas outfit in the truck toolbox.
Would really like to learn TIG though, you can do some really nice sh*t with TIG...
