Default Headers for towing issue

I've read about every post and threads i could find but none answered the many questions that guys like me are searching for.
I and i should say WE recongnise that long tubes are best power and flow.
But, the question I and We all posted is: except for the 0-60 and the quarter mile, what's the difference in power and torque at low RPM's. We are many here that are learning and would really like to mods their truck's meanwhile, we also travel with travel trailers of 4000 to 6000 pounds. Also, is it worth to get shorty's and why they don't sell them for 4x4's.
I and We really apprecite this site, the help and the contacts we can have here. I've got, after a few post readings, made a HB CAI witch I really enjoy and can not go without anymore. Some guy's here can help us on that one. Excuse the lenght, but it's worth.

Everyone with LTs will tell you that they make more torque than shortys. What they won't tell you is that the extra torque is all at higher rpm. For off the line, low rpm torque, you want shortys.

Thank's, so a bit restriction gives power at low rpm's and less would give some at high rpm's. If we can see it that way.

i can anwer the hp /tq question..
Horsepower is defined as...the amount of energy it takes to lift ~500lbs up 1 foot in 1 second....
the amount of energy the combustion chamber makes to push the pistion down---hp... then the crankshaft converts that up and down motion to a twisting motion (which then goes through the transmission-out to your wheels) into tq.
so to sum it up Horsepower is power in a straight line. and Torque is a rotating force.
"Horsepower is what you read about, torque is what you feel."

So, for guy's going highway and towing, the issue should be upgrading gears, in my case to 3,92 even 4,10. I travel mostly on flat roads and about 20000km a year on highway. Getting to big gears would get me expensive on gas. But getting bigger a bit should help with SC and CAI. Hummmmm, wife might have a surprise till hunting season. haha!!

horsepower is for bragging rights. torque is for proving rights

and Frog is right on. comparing shorties vs longtubes, the shorties will offer more torque and the LT's will offer more hp. The torque numbers are similiar, but the hp gains are much bigger with LTs, which is why most people go with LTs.
