Default Stage III Valve Body ??

Anyone here using a Stage III Valve body? If so, how is the shifting? Are you also using a higher than stock stall converter? I know stage II is the recommended street piece, but I'm thinking with a higher stall converter a stage III may be a even better choice. This is a street truck with the rare occassional race. Opinions are also welcomed.
Thanks,

OlDirtyJohn has the Sharadon Stage III tranny, which has the Stage III valve body in it. He'll probably chime in, but he's said before they are neck snapping shifts. REALLLY firm.

Maori has a stage III VB in his truck if Im not mistaken. I thought ODJ's was a stage II too.

I was told that the stage III for a daily driver was to much, and to go with the stage II instead (its on the ever growing long list of wants/needs).

If ODJ is only running stage II, i would definitely not recommend the stage III unless you put in a 5-pt harness with a helmet and hans device to prevent the whiplash every shift

I thought it was a stage II. VA - if the red girl is your daily driver stage II would be as high as I would go personally unless you head to the track regularly and only then would I go stage III. Stage III is supposedly a very harsh shift for everyday driving and both the stage II & III are only suppose to cut your 1/4 ET's I believe by about 3 tenths give or take.

My 2800 stall converter is a little soft so my thinking is that the converter would take some of the harshness out of the shifts. And besides I coulld always re-enforce my cup holder.....

ODJ is using a converter as well (2600 stall). The jump from stock to Stage II is HUGE. I honestly think you'd get pretty tired of gettin beat up with the stage III
