Default driveshaft play?

hey all, been having a cluncking sound from under my truck (04 ram qc 4x4). happens when going from park to reverse, pretty loud. i got under the truck to check the ujoints. thr rear was nice and tight, no movement at all. the front is a little wierd, while the ujoints are tight with no movement i can rotate the shaft a little, this sounds like the noise im hearing. this is with the truck off and in park. i can grab the front shaft and turn about an inch. is this normal? thanks, carl p.s. i have not used 4x4 since march.

if it is parked on a hill and the driveline is stressed it is not normal but if you are parked evenly and there is no stress on the driveline there will always be a little slack when rotating the driveline due to the parking pawl movement
