Ok i have a 07 ram 4.7v8 with 72,000 miles. Here recently its started to have a high idle on pretty much all start ups hot or cold. it sits at about 1500 and then it will calm down a few minutes later. Been thinkin about taking it to the dealer but figured i'd ask on here first.

 

Mine usually jumps to 1500 on start up but then goes down to about 700ish at idle..if it stays at 1500rpm's for a few minutes, I would probably ask my dealer, or come here! Someone will chime in who knows a bit more about this. Welcome to DF by the way.

 

Thanks. and it may not be a few minutes, but definately longer than it should. i understand the cold start idle, but seems like its everytime i jump in the truck.



may take it to the dealer just to be safe.
