engine has some kind of govenor on it that wont let it rev up if the wheels are not in sync with the call for power and at 2000rpm the wheels wont spin but thanks much for your infinate wisdom

No. It's pretty finite.
I can smoke my tires just fine. 2005 RAM HEMI. Brakestand if it's a hot dry summer day, if it's wet, the truck breaks loose all on its own, even when I'm trying my best not to... Never payed much attention to the RPM's though. I'll be getting it chipped to remove the rev limiter anyways.
the tach doesnt have a redline because it redlines where the tach stops, something like 7000 rpms. Damn, thats high for a v-8 but my tranny shifts at like 6300 rpm, or something like that. I dont pay much attention because when you accelerate as fast the hemi does, you dont have time to look at anything but the road. hahahaha. My tires dont spin when I nail the throttle from a standstill on asphalt but it sure does take off in a hurry. I can only make a squeel unless I hit the throttle hard awhile turning, then the rear end breaks loose. No mods. Its bone stock with 1k on it. I havent tried powerbraking. It seems too abusive for such a new truck.
