Welcome to Dodge Forum. I've not tried to burn them down so I can't give you any firsthand experience, but I have heard this before.

If your truck won't go over 2000 rpms in the mud you have a serious problem with your truck. Mine won't smoke the tires on dry pavement, but launches very fast. Spinning tires is a disadvantage.

This is due to the Torque managment system. Do a search and you should find some more info.

I am with DonG on this one, there must be something wrong with your truck, because I have no problem peeling out even when I am not trying to with my truck and its an '04 with a hemi and 20's even. If I floor it from a dead stop it will just keep spinning till it catches up in speed with the tires... terrible for a good launch for sure!
