So no one was hurt, except for my pride, and my 30 year accident free run has come to an end. So heres what happened, I am having a tight day and have to use my own truck to drive up to the Bosses office for a mtg which is about 6 miles away from the shop, so I got like 15 minutes to get there but get a call to pick-up my 19 year old and drive her home from work as mom is still ay work and the kid doesn't drive. So I pick her up and head home all the time she's balling cause her Newfie Boyfreind moved back home and has another girl,,,blah,,,blah,,F***N Dad told you so, pull in the driveway and she gets out, I'm backing out and the contractor building the house next-door waves me down for a quick chat, I say what a day I got 7 minutes to be at a meeting 5 miles away but hey (this is where I get cocky) I'm an Army Cheif Warrant Officer so if I'm late no one will say a word to me, and with that I notice a bobcat coming down the street behind my truck, and I get excited cause its the Gravel man comin to deliver my fancy little driveway stones, so I back out quickly onto the normally dead street un be knows that a big *** school Bus has stopped right accross from my place to drop off 2 young Kids, so thankfully they exited the Bus straight onto there lawn, so dummy here backs right onto the street and wham into the Bus. Buddy lays on the horn as I hit em.
So there no excuse, brain lapse, and heres me worrying if anyone was between the bus, thank the lord only our Bumpers as the two Boys never heard a thing as they ran to their house. So damage,,,,F***K, the Bus had a Big *** Mirror on an extension, so that pierced my rear tinted window of my viper Cap, Bumper pushed in and toast, Pass side, quarter panel below right lense crunched in, tailgate dented, and hinge is toast, barely got her closed, so sweeped the glass of the street. Bus driver wasn't too interested as he just wanted to drop off his kids and get back to town, he wasn't concerned with the small bend in the Buses bumper, we exchanged phone numbers and off he went.

In hind side I shoulda made him stay, but I was so pissed at myself and embarrassed. Never made the mtg with the Boss, I owe $100 Bucks to the Gravel man, and have just filed my prelininary claim online as there office is closed unless its an emergency, so there, I have vented, The wife was pretty cool about it. I just ordered 1300 bucks in tires today and cause of this will have to wait for my transcooler I wanted. I paid for my Torque converter last week, so what I wanna say is it's gonna cost me 500 deductable as I will need to put this on the insurance cause the Bumper alone is $400 bucks used. So thats it guys....I know this post is useless without Pics....so I'll get my kid to take some pics and will post later.........Best closing remark is I was craving a cigarrette bad when this **** hit my fan but did not fold and day number 8 without a smoke will end and I will already be up 80 Bucks.

Wow, man!!!! Tough day. Super-glad no one was hurt. Take my word for it, we've all done much the same. Good test for the cigarette thing.

The bus driver will be in deep **** for leaving the scene.

 

ouch man! not too bad other than the window missing, you could barely notice the bumper/QP damage. congrats on smoke free living. its tough i know but keep the will power up and just dont buy another pack...

Oh man, that is not good. Being distracted can really mess you up. Too bad you are up north, I have the bumper I took off my truck. We all have done similar stuff. Make the repair an upgrade..... Good luck

 

just replace the glass and wait for some moron to rear-end you and he'll pay for the bumper. congrats on bein smoke free. tell your wife thats YOUR mod money!! calculate your savings and get yourself something nice. you deserve it!
