adding "guttah" anything isn't gonna raise the coolness of it..aaahahahaaa..lmao
Just pokin fun. I debated on a stick-on myself, but unless I have a tree limb fall on my hood I don't think that wil happen...lol
I'll agree on the fiberglass hoods. There aint 1 hood out there that won't need some kind of prep work. Nothing like steel which is scuff and shoot 99% of the time.
I had a quality Fiberglass hood on my mustang and it started to lift the front corners any speed over 80mph.
I just think that if you have a 2500 that will be in the woods....You'll want steel. A small branch falling on a steel hood is a scuff to slightly creased dent that might be able to be pulled out with no body work. On a fiberglass hood, it's a crack and dent/break that requires bodywork/paint.
Fiberglass is cheap upfront for the most part, but you'll pay dearly getting it prepped
If I were to get a hood, it would only be an OEM Mopar made hood painted by the Dealer or a reputable body shop that will warranty against match/defects in paint. There won't be any other hood that will fit as good, even a steel aftermarket. i like the look of the cowl/scoop. I could care less if every other Ram owner had the same hood. There aint that many Rams on the road. It aint like buying a Mustang and installing Flowmasters...lol That would be a level kit and tires for us!

Man I wish I could have popped my dent out. It was about from my elbow to my wrist and a little less than the width of my forearm. I popped that sucker perfectly with just the palm of my hand until the last two inches, which popped OUT the other way and flecked off a quarter sized piece of paint right down to bare shiny metal.
My least expensive solution at that point was the scoop at $162 to the door painted and a couple of coats of clear nail polish to seal the area that the paint flew off of. I just thought it looked "overly" fake as the insert area was simply painted the same red as the rest of it. At least with the 'gutta mesh in there it has a semblance of being real.
The making it functional though is actually an afterthought, I want that passenger side area freed up for the factory 2nd battery tray, so cutting the hood, making this scoop functional and re-routing my CAI to it is the perfect solution...

found this one . 690 to my door . then off to paint . not bad i think ...your thoughts it is steel . seems to me the more badd *** looking they are they only come in fiber glass . this is the knarlyest one i could find that was steel . it says 1500 but i dont think they changed them from a 2500 should fit IMO
