I was leaving work this morning and went to grab a bite to eat and when i tuned left into the parking lot, i heard a loud pop sound from the driver side front end. so i turned right an nothing... so when i was leaving i turned left again an, pop... got home and i looked under it and did not find anything out of the norm? what do ya'll think it could be?
MIne did that for a while too, never could figure out what the hell it was, had it up on a lift and checked everything and all was good still handled right etc. but it went away after a few months
Yeah its 4wd and it is used A LOT lol, i wiggled every thing i could think of, and nothing was lose. first time it has ever done it. maybe it will go away after some time... at least i hope.
The pop is probably from turning all the way and touching the steering stops. When the wheels get turned at that sharp of a turning angle, the pressure/weight of the truck can almost snap it into the steering stop causing a clunk/pop sound.
I don't think it's something your gonna get rid of, but you can reduce the noise by applying some grease to the stop face. The grease will act as a cushion.
go to user cp at the top and on the left side of the screen it will say edit signature and type in your own and then click save. simple enough! good luck
