Lot of stupid laws on the books, thankfully a lot of them they don't enforce.

In Florida you don't have to wear a helmet on a motorcycle traveling at 70 mph on the asphalt interstate, but in some counties you have to wear one in a kayak! Yeah, that water can really cause head trauma!!!

In Georgia, as well as most states, it is illegal for your tire to exceed outside your fender well. Now EVERYBODY I know with a 4x4 there does. ALMOST NEVER ENFORCED. A buddy of mine started dating the ex g/f of a city cop in his town and got pulled over and written up by the baggadouche for it.
Judge threw it out and also gave the cop a VERY stern warning about cluttering up her docket with such nonsense in front of the entire court room!!!

 

I think Hammer pretty much hit the nail on the head..according to these guys, they believe that in IL, smoked tail lights are legal as long as the lights are visible from 500ft away.

Lol, yeah NY is pretty bad with window tint. The legal limit is 70% I think, right? Except for the back window? Once you're up to a percentage that high it's like what's the point of getting tinted windows?

 

I have never seen a tent for lights, but I do believe tinting them is illegal in most states....why risk it?

 

it covers the very top part of my license plate, they said it was illegal to have anything covering any part of the license plate. they were not the nicest cops, even checked my vin # on my truck to make sure it wasnt stolen and that it matched the plate #

 

i live in illinois had black *** rear lights on ol red never had a issue . even had cops tell me the truck looks mean ... this was from illinois state troopers , sangomon county cops , and everyone in between . cops have better things to do than worry about a tinted light .

 

apparently they dont like Missourians in their territory

 

I live in central illinois and a buddy of mine got a warning because his were blacked out, but they were so blacked out you could barely see them. I think they told him they could be tinted but had to be easily visible when the brake lights were on and night time running lights

 

I am from the STL area. I am cosidering painting mine or buying the LED taillights. Not for sure my plan yet but I want to do it soon. When I do it I would not buy or paint them the darkest I can I would rather look good but be functional.
