Default Shudder at take off from a stop

hey guys lately ive been experiencing a shaking taking off from a stop especially while turning. its coming from the rear of the truck. i just had a used rear end put in about 2 months ago. does anyone know whats going on here?
Also ive got the sameshaking sometimes while applying the brakes could these problems be related?
I was told to add some mopar friction modifier to the gearcase oil will this work?
thanks for any info!

well the shaking with braking is usually a warped rotor... check your rear rotors

yeah you would only notice warped rotors when stopping or slowing down, not starting from a stop you that sounds right. As for the starting the shaking and around corners, I would check the fluid in the rear end and make sure you have the LSD additive if you have that type rear. If it is low it will cause the clutches to grab and make that type feeling you describe.

correct. what weedahoe stated.
if you have what dodge calls a anti-spin rear axle you will need the right fluid with the right addative.
the 1500s require it but the 2500 and 3500 do not.
my guess is you are low on fluid or additive and its causing it to shutter around turns.

Did they change the fluid when they swapped the rear?

Moisture in the rear end can cause the same shutter problems even if there is enough aditive in there.
You should drain all that fluid out of there. Add only Synthetic and see if that solves the problem. Most Synthetics have the additive in them already I think? Mobil 1, RP, Amsoil all have additives in them already.
IF the fluid was changed, they prob used conventional fluid which is not correct.

Too much additive can cause the same problem too.

You need to use the additive regardless of synthetic fluid.

Not true. You only need more additive for Synthetic fluid if and only if there is still chatter going on.

If the Synthetic fluid already has the additive in it, then why would you need more if there's no chatter? I changed my fluid in my diff with Mobil 1 75w-140 and never added in any modifier as it was in the fluid already. I have put on 7kmi and have towed all kinds of weight and never have heard or felt a peep out of my LSD.

i would add a tube of friction modifier and see if that solves the problem. If not, then your clutch packs are likely gong to need to be replaced. Driving a rear diff and allowing it to chatter endlessly wears it down twofold and puts hotspots on the clutch surfaces.

You're wrong. The additive has nothing to do with being "synthetic". You need the lsd additive. Period. Mobil1 does NOT have the additive.

The thing with the diff is that you wont know there is a problem, until it's too late.

Why in the world would you cheap out on a $5 tube of additive?

Lots of synthetic fluids claim to have the additive but its not the correct additive for the dodge LSD in the 1500.
I would drain all the old fluid out of the diff.
Then, I would add the 4 oz tube of Mopar LSD additive along with some new gear oil.
edit: sorry I meant 5 oz additive
