Default got a very weird question, SRT10 brakes on a regular 2002 1500 ram?

im just about done with my hemi swap project, finally!! and im looking to lift the front 3in and the rear 2in, then some 20's with some nitto dune grapplers, and i wanted to upgrades the brakes as well, but instead of spending 3+ grand on those aftermarket kits, i was wondering if i could use the complete brake system from an 04-05 srt10, mine is an 02 4x4, does anyone know if the brake caliper bracket and bolt patterns would match up or not, cuz i can get a complete set of calipers and the caliper brackets for around 200-300, and i can get a set of rotors of a friends 05 srt10, he is going with an after market kit, so i can have them for sure, now i already have performance rotors and pads on my truck and they help with stopping, but if this upgrade is possible i def want to do it, this would be the perfect last upgrade to the brakes for now! any ideas, tips, or anyone that has done it let me know

Not such a weird question (trust me), but you should do a search...

well thanks for the links, i didnt realize that you did this upgrade, oh the seet irony, anyways for some reason the last two will not load no matter which browser i use, but for the one link that is in this forum, it def didnt come up in my first searches, cuz that is exactly what i was looking for, the only thing is that it was an 03 without the torsion bar setup that my 02 has, im curious if the 03 and newer ones with the different lower a arm due to the spring and shock setup would have the same spindle, caliper bolt pattern, cuz id rather not have to change my spindles out to do this upgrade, least right now, if i have to change them ill just do this project a little later on when i have some more spare money, and as far as the rear ones were they just bolt on or did you have to change anything else out there too thanks again

I have the SRT front brakes on my truck and you have to change out the spindles cause the caliper holes don't line up. Also you said your truck is a 4x4, I don't think the SRT spindles work on a 4x4 so I don't think they will work on your truck.

oh duh i totally forgot about that, of course the srt10 never had 4x4 right, so the caliper bolt pattern is different then, thats exactly what i needed to know, well i guess there is only two things i can do then, either make mine not a 4x4 no more, which would save alot of weight, but i use the 4x4 some, so i would rather not do that, or see if i can have some custom caliper brackets made up, im not sure how they are setup, cuz i havent even had my wheels off yet believe it or not, i guess ill have to wait on this upgrade then, well thanks for the info and links, least i wont be wasting any money right now on paper weights, if i do the upgrade later, ill be sure to put a thread up showing what i did, cuz i def want to do this someday, but keeping the 4x4 if at all possible, should be interesting to see how it will work!

well i should have done this search before i posted that last one, cuz i had a random thought, cuz my brother is about to swap out his hubs for ss cobalt hubs, his is a base cobalt and he wants the ss wheels, but they are 5 bolts and his are 4, so we did some research and the hubs could be swapped due to the same hub size and bolt pattern, well i just got done doing my research on rockauto parts, which is where i usually get all my stock replacement parts that i cant get at my local auto store, but anyways, the 05 srt10 front hubs and the 02 1500 front hubs are interchangeable, and its weird cuz the srt10 hubs on two different brands have RWD and 4x4 listed under the compatibility, im like 99% sure that the srt10's didnt have 4x4, but due to the same replacement part numbers under both trucks, i could use 05 srt10 spindles and brakes, but still use my torsion setup and 4x4 capability, ill have to do some more digging and maybe a trip to my local parts store to make sure, but ill let you guys know what i find, least i might have found another option possibly?!

Hubs are the same (these are your front bearings with lug studs). Spindles are not, but you may be able to do it since the T-bars fit into the LCA's. The spindle (knuckle) doesn't know any better, it just bolts to the upper & lower ball joints. Only place you might run into trouble is alignment. Keep in mind, the hubs bolt INTO the spindles, so of course they're the same part number.

thats what i was thinking, hmmm alignment i never thought of that, this might not work out for the long term then, i know later i do want to get a real lift kit around 5 inches or so, i was just planning on using the 3 in lft keys on the torsion bars, well ill have to talk with my local dodge dealer and see what they think then, unless by chance someone else on here knows for sure
