Default How hard is it to change the water pump (2005 1500 5.7l)

Well the shop says the water pump is leaking and they wanted to charge $280 to change it. I'm thinking about doing it myself, the local auto parts store is selling one for $100 with a life time guarantee. So how hard is it to DIY? anything else to change well im doing the water pump? thanks

It doesn't look too bad, but I've not actually done one on the Hemi. I've changed three water pumps, one on a Ford F-150. From the looks, I'd say the Hemi is easier. Glad I don't have to do it in the summer

I have had mine off a few times. It is not that hard and the only thing other you need to remove first is the belt and clutch fan obviously. You can remove other things to give you more room like the alternator, AC and t-stat/upper rad hose. The fan shroud will also need to come out.

Autozone has them for $86 with LLT wrnty
