Default Front control module

2002 1500 4.7

I have come to the conclusion that my front control module needs to be changed. Does the new FCM require any programing by the dealer or can it just be swapped out? Has anyone located the FCM online for purchase?

Thanks for any help.

Why does your FCM need replacing and how did you conclude that was the reason?
Usually they are very reliable, and the only thing I know that eeds repkacing in that area is the PDC due to corrosion issues.

I completely disassembled the PDC but was unable to find anything wrong. I did find on the FCM #9 pin was badly pitted and #1 had a small amount of pitting. My original problem was a drivers low beam not working. I ran a jumper to bypass pin #9 connection. Everything seems to be working fine now with the exception of 1 time when I turned the high beams on the lamp out light came on but turned off as soon as high beams were cycled off. I could not duplicate it again. I will give it some time to see if it's going to act up again.

Because of the pitting on the FCM pins is why I was looking for a replacement.

I have the same problem but with my passenger side low beam. I have located several parts dealers who sell used FCMs but their sales are final and the parts are usually used. No exchanges No refunds !! Best bet would just spend the $270 at a dealership. Thats what I am asking my Father for Christmas. LOL !
