On 05 and earlier it is true you need the whole assembly or to do some cutting of the stock SLT bumper. On 06-08 you use the slt chome and slide the bumper cover over it. You will need to drill a few wholes to mount it.

 

so for an 07 all it is is the cover, but heres the thing my slt bumper has a little pump in the top where the grill meets the bumper they almost touch "gate jumped in front of me" i think it can be beat down tho someone said go to the dodge house but im thinking thats gonna be expensive i wish i could find one on craigslist

 

yes the 06+08 are just covers and slip over the chrome ones. the top pad needs to be taken off first though before you put the cover on it. cl, lmc are good places for them...
