Hey guys, just got my 2006 Ram.. couple of questions
So, I traded in my 2001 Dodge Ram 5.2 (boat anchor) on a 2006 Dodge Ram with a 5.7 Hemi. My truck has 49,000 miles. I just took one coil pack off, and its got the original champion spark plugs. They look ok.. but do they both fire or is one used for exhaust? Like looking at them with the coil pack off on the drivers side there are two holes o-o.. left or right.
I suppose Champion copper is what yall reccomend as replacement?
Also, do these trucks have fuel filters?
Thanks!
Ryan

yep hemi's like the oem copper champs for plugs. and for the fuel filter i have no idea! lol i think its in the tank but not 100% sure never had to touch it yet. and i not sure about the 2 plugs. i think its for either a primary spark and then a secondary on the combustion stroke.. or 1 spark on the combustion stroke and then 1 on the exhaust. im sure somebody will chime in with the right answer
i run the ngk vpowers just like i did in my 5.2 and my truck loves em i think its just a copper core recommendation for plugs those plats arent worth the money at all....and yes the fuel filter is in the tank youll have to remove it to get to it....dont do it unless you absolutely have too....and yes congrats on the up grade youll love it in no time....
I asked the dodge dealership, "What exactly does the Lone Star package add?" He says, " The sticker on the door"
lol... I love it still. I want to do an oil change and make sure its 5w-20.. and spark plugs. The Mopar filter for these trucks is 090 or somthing right?
thanks!

The engine runs great on standard copper core plugs and are spec'd for a change every 30k miles regardless of plugs used, so IMO spending more on platinums would just be spending money you don't have to...
