Default Truck shifting threw all gears

I put my mag Y pipe and muffler on now when im driving from a take off the truck shifts threw all the gears pretty fast not like befor. Is this because of the exhaust? Its like it shot right to OD then will down shift then right back to od is it time for a tuner?

I think what's happening is you installed a louder exhaust so now you can tell when the truck is shifting and probably never even realized before what was happening.
i think the searching for OD is from you wanting to hear your exhaust...lol

I doubt your hitting OD around town and regarding the shift points...they may be slightly off, but WOT is programmed at a certain rpm so nothing would change there. My truck stock tuned barely shifted into OD on the highway, but when it did, it would search in/out at a certain speed and going up slight inclines.

I would highly recc'd a SC 3865 or Cortex tuner due to the trans functions alone. I control when my truck shifts which is waaaaay better than the stock mushy early shifts.

Thanks dirty i see what your saying. I dont do much in town driving all long distance. I will be on the look out for a tuner. when i go up hills and sometimes on flats the truck bogs out pretty low the shifts sounds like it might stall.

y do you want to even it out? shifting that easily is good and less wear on the trans. if you dont want od turn on the tow/haul button

I never had any problems installing my exhaust or K&N filter...etc, but if your truck is bogging down it will likely adapt given time. I know my truck stock tune would allow my truck to bog or so it seemed with my catback cuz it's louder. An SC tuner would eliminate any bogging down as you can control the upshifts AND the downshifts so if you don't want to be lugging going up a slight incline at 65mph, you set your downshifts up so that at a certain rpm/speed and pedal position, your truck will downshift into 4th much quicker so there is no bog.
