Default Need higher intake for weekend warrior

As I'm in the process of a motor swap because of hydrolock, what are some options to get my intake up higher and less vulnerable? By the looks of it my airbox wasn't dunked but just sprayed badly. What are some cost effective options for moving the intake up higher? A removable snorkel may be an option, but if it's time to sell the truck I don't want a big hole in the fender. Any ideas?

Look into the AFE Stage II (Hemi High Breather CAI)

well if this guy is getting into the kind of water that killed his motor with the stock intake then I would say a CAI is out of the question. Unfortunately i think you're only option is a snorkel but you may be about to rig it without cutting the fender.

Also if you're getting in that much water you may want to look at all extending all your factory vent tubes into your snokel as well. Defintiely want to keep water out of your diffs.

Just keep an extra fender on hand in case you wanna trade or sell or go back to stock. Im sure you can find one on CL or salvage yard by the time you decide to do that.

Extra fender might be an option. How hard would it be to swap the fenders?

They aren't too bad to swap out. I say go with a snorkel and just buy yourself a backup fender.

What is the cheapest way to get a snorkel? PVC is one way but if I can find something relatively cheap that looks better I'd like to do that. Any ideas on how to cover up the hole in the fender for cruising around town?

Someone out there has to have a snorkel kit out there. Check ARB or something. PVC snorkel will look ghetto.

I know a guy in my hunting club has an '08 Tundra with a store bought snorkel kit. You gotta cut the fender, but it comes with a template. I know my buddy texts with the guy a good bit. I'll try to find out what company makes it, could be they make for Rams too...
