i have a 08 ram QC with a 4.7L.

i dont drive my truck hard, but i do have a cortex.
the other day on my way home from work, i decided to punch it and i looked in the passenger mirror for some reason and i saw lil clouds of black smoke comin out..... not a lot, but it still worries me.

any body have any idea?

 

Running rich, what tune are you using?

 

i am using performance tune with 93 oct.

 

I dont have a tuner though.....
Same thing happened today with me. 08 4.7L 45,600 miles. Flowmaster exhaust. Single in- dual out. Friend was behind me at a light, I floored it for a while. He texted me that I had black smoke. When I got home I looked at the tail pipes.. They were sooty kinda like the inside a 5.9 cummins would look like...
Truck has a warranty till 80k... Any Ideas... I know its running rich.. Right now for kicks and gigs I removed the (-) from the battery to see if a reset was needed.. (long shot i know)....

 

where i am right now.. Disconnected battery for a hour.. checked for codes...Nothing... Then started it.. It seemed a little smoother on the start up.. I could be seeing things... But I know I wiped out a good amount of soot from both pipes...
