THANKS!
used lot and lots of degreaser and sand paper and 2 bottles of paint and some armor-all for the plastics. the secrete is the paint, i sanded down as much as i could behind and around the pulleys. and sprayed some of that engine paint (light gray) as well for the exhaust mani and for the pulleys i painted them black, IT WAS A PAIN to sand and to clean all of the wiring and tubes. and i also painted my e-fan. oh and yea i had to pul out my radiator cus i really wanted it to come out good and not only that,but it was MUCH easier work.

I can see you sprayed the header and the front alt. bracket. You should try and clean up the overspray on the hoses. still looks a whole chitload better, that's for sure.
I've sprayed a few hundred if not more engine's. I usually spray degreaser all over a warm engine and let it soak for about 15minutes(engine off), then spray some more degreaser and give it a good bath using a pressure washer(w/engine running).
Steer clear of the alternator and starter, everywhere else can get it good...lol
If I'm at the carwash doing it, I use the scrub brush and scrub where I can.(this is why you don't use the wash wands on your paint cuz guys like me
)
Leave the engine running with the hood open or drive it around for about 20 minutes.
