Default 08 Ram 1500 Lift kit ?

Hello, I am new to the forum and got a question on a 2008 Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4x4 short bed. I was just at a show today and talked with a guy from Rough Country and they have a 2.5" leveling kit for it. Is there any one running them and is there any problems with this setup. Also what size 20"tires can you put on with this kit. Thank You

Welcome to the forums, I'm pretty new here too. Anyway tons of people on here run 2.5 leveling kits, it doesn't have to be from Rough Country there are a bunch out there that ultimately do the exact same thing. In terms of tires (I'm assuming because your wording was a tad off that you want to keep your 20" wheels on with some bigger tires, but a lot of people run 33's with a leveling kit and have no rubbing or anything. Some people run 35's but it is a pretty tight fit and in my opinion won't look right. 33's are some pretty mean looking tires though, in your case some 33" Nittos would look really good. Rough Country is a legitimate company and appear to be reliable, I doubt you would have any major problems. Just make sure it's installed correctly, whether you have it done professionally at a body shop or yourself (if you know what you're doing)

35's are very cool tires but you have to take into account that they will decrease your gas mileage slightly and unless you've got a 3" body lift (or higher) they won't work perfectly. 33's are a really good looking tire with only a level and that is what I would suggest to you. It also depends if you do off roading or not, as tires vary depending on what you are going to do with your truck. The better off roading tires, the louder on the street, and the better street tires they are, the worse the off-road traction. Much more goes into tires than just what size wheel you have!

I don't use this truck for off-road at all, I use it for a good truck just want to make it look better and get it leveled out. At the show today in (Bloomsburg Pa) there was a 08 ram 1500 with 35-12.5-20 and it looked sweet. It did not look like any major lift on truck at all but the front had to be lifted as it sat level. Also i been working on cars since i was 10 and been in a garage since i was 16 so i'm sure i can put the lift on.

Did anyone here of or has had any issues with ball joints going out with this type of lift. I was told from a guy at skyjacker that some of these block kits weren't developed far enough and that have caused issues with ball joints.
