3 inch lift kit for 2003 dodge ram
Hi again.Becouse i need this shocks asap i try advance autoparts and that store have rancho rs 5000 shocks. But for the front that shocks are for 4 inch and for the rear 2.5 inch. That guy who install lift kit for my say this shocks its ok for my truck. And i dont know if that 4 inch mean up to 4 inch or just for 4 inch lift kit.
That's because those Rancho shocks are made to go with their 4" suspension lift kit, which raises the front 4" and the rear 2.5".
If the guy who installed your lift says they will work, go with them. Even though it's Rancho's entry level shock, it's still a very good shock. Might be you'll bottom out the front shocks on some rough terrain with them being a little long, but at only 1" longer, I think you'll be ok...

1500 with a Rancho 4" suspension lift. Yeah if I had to do it over again I'da bought a 2500. My FIRST IFS truck (my 2nd Gen 1500 had a solid front axle). But it's not bad, I've not broken a CV joint yet, but I'm only up 4" and although I'm off-road VERY often, where I go, what I do I am barely over 10-15 mph when I'm off road, often slower.
Looks good. Now correct me if I am wrong, but if somebody swapped out the steering knuckles for a set of say 3 or 4 inch lift knuckles and added blocks to the rear. How well do you suspect that hold up for some occasional mud play but mostly just on road driving with extremely bumpy roads? Or do you think that that person would break stuff all the time? I ask because I have been debating of tossing some lift knuckles and blocks at my 1500 as I can't afford a full lift kit right now.
