what truck?
the newer ones have moisture sensors and will only come on if the windshield detects moisture but older ones the problem is most likely in the multifunction switch

on my 2005 the wipers always act up on me... sometimes they work perfectly fine, other times they will work and then stop, other times they don't wanna turn off...

i am having the same problem i have read several thread with people having the same problem and it comes down to the realys for some people, the multi-stalk, the motors, or the stop contacts. it seems to be different for every one. i tried the relays on mine and still the same thing so since i just got my 05 last week i'm gonna call the dealer i bought it from and tell them to fix it. i think mine is in the multi-stalk. just so you can check the relay you want to do is #55 just switch it with one of the others in the fuse block as they are all the same.

i had the same problem with my 05 and it was in the wiper motor under, there is a thread on here somwhere i will try and find it for you, but basically i had to remove the wiper and the plastic panel to get to the wiper moror, then i had to remove it and strip it down to get to the contacts, then cleaned off all the grease and cleaned the contacts regreased and refitted problem fixed
ok found it
Before you replace the multi-stick, pull the cowl and the wiper motor assembly, the is a "sweep" box attached to the motor, ita all integral, remove the cover and use a pecil eraser, or similar, to clean the metal contact runners in there. Then relube with lithium grease and see if that doesn't remedy your problem.[/QUOTE]

hope this helps it certinally fixed mine

check the relays in the power center, do a search, its been covered several times.

Can also be the contacts in the wiper motor, start with the relays
