E-fan installed!
Hey guys I got my e-fan mounted and hooked up. It works fine except for the fact that it turns on and stays on the entire time the truck is on. I tried adjusting the controller and nothing. Once warmed up it stays between 181 and 185 whether I'm driving or standing still. Anybody have any idea what it could be? It turns off when I turn the truck off. Link below to the pics. You'll have to view from bottom to top as the newer pics are on top for some reason. http://s880.photobucket.com/albums/a...8/E-fan%20Mod/
The green tool I used worked great for getting the clutch fan off. I used the hook at the end and put it in one of the holes on the water pump pulley. My brother held a monkey wrench on the clutch fan and then used the other green part as a hammer and hit on the tool previously mentioned to break the fan free. My brother also came up with pretty much all the ideas for mounting everything with the exception of cutting the stock fan shroud in half to keep the bottles on it.
I'd also like to thank everyone for the help. Especially Weedahoe.

If it comes on and stays on like that then you may have a bad controller. Even with both the red and yellow wires (constant and switched) tied together it still should not come on until the temp is reached for whatever the controlled it set for
Is it bad that the fan stay on all the time? If not then I'm not going to worry about it. If so then I'm gonna go to Advance tomorrow and buy a Hayden controller like what you have. Does it run the fan without any problems on the low side? And how much did you pay for it?
Alright I've been doing some research and concluded that it could either be a stuck relay or a bad controller. I'm going to go to advance and pick up a new controller and relay and start narrowing things down.
Update: It all works now with the same controller as before. It looked like there was a bunch of grease or something on the ends of the relay. I cleaned it all off and backed out the temp adjust screw, waited for the truck to hit ~198 and adjusted accordingly. Now the fan cools the truck down to ~188 idling at 90 degrees outside. Truck hits 190 and the fan kicks back on to get it back down to 188. I appreciate all the help guys! So far the hardest and most fun mod I've done.
