Default Front Suspension Noise

Ok I have a new 05 Ram 1500 with 500 miles on it, when making a 90 deg. turn if you hit a bump you hear and feel a clunking sound coming from the front end, and you feel it through the floor. If you don't hit any bumps I don't have a problem. Anyone else ran into an issue like this?

2 or 4 wheel drive? Does it matter in which direction you turn? Is it on one side or the other? 90 degree turn, do you mean at full steering lock, or...?

Hmm?

I have an 02 QC 4x2 and it does the same thing. I get it every time I hit the bump turning into my driveway. Happens when I turn hard right, noise comes from left front. My truck only has 40K on it. Thought about taking it to a dealer but it handles great and isn't out of alignment. Dealers here are so bad I would rather have the occasional clunk than take a day off work to argue with a dealer.

Well the Dealer says it's my aftermarket Nerf bars/ running boards. They mount different than the Dodge ones do, They are DEEZ and they mount both to the inside of the rocker pannel, I'm a dealer for these so I get them at a much better cost than the factory Dodge ones. They have a support going to the bottom side of the Body mount. They say it isn't alowing the body to flex, I'm going to take the supports off and see if it fixes the problem if not it will be going back again.

Dude...have them remove the sway bars, clean and lube them, then replace. My 04 had that prob and it looks like my 05 does too.

Irish has a good point. I have grease zerts on my after market sway bar posts (not sure if the factory ones are zerted) and if i don't grease them at least once a month it will knock on sharp turns and on bumps.

Mine does the sme thing. Dn't give it mch mind as I'm pretty sure its the swaybar. Next oil change I'll unbolt it and slap some grease in there to quiet things down.

I was wrong on my last post. It was one of my sway bars that had broken. I guess the rubber boot had slipped off and water got inside causing it to rust and eventually break. The guy who fixed it said that he had fixed a few Dodge Ram's that had broken as well. Anyone else heard of this being a problem?
