CV Joint issue
Hey guys - Looking for some help. I've got an 07 1500 4x4 with a 2 inch leveling kit that vibrates in 4wd. I read through the posts on this issue and decided to go with the KORE high angle CV joints. We installed them and the vibration is gone, but the driver's side clicks when accelerating in 4wd. I spoke to Kore and they recommended swapping the CV joints from side to side to see if we could narrow down the issue. When I tried to pull the CV joint out, it actually started pulling the shaft out of the pumpkin instead of coming off it. I immediately stopped and put the front end back together until I could get some advice. The truck drives fine in 2 wd. I put it back in 4wd just to make sure I hadn't torn anything up and it still clicks. Any thoughts on how to get the CV joint out without pulling out the shaft coming out of the pumpkin? Anyone else have this issue? I'm concerned if I pull the shaft out, that the gears in the pumpkin will get out of whack and then I will have to mess around with that. Thanks.
I agree. My concern is that the CV joint is actually pulling the shaft out of the front diff/pumpkin. I tapped it with the hammer and the shaft just keeps sliding out of the diff. The CV joint isn't "releasing"
