Default 1,500 Mile trip and 90,000 Miles on my pickup???

Ok in July I’m going to be going on a road trip and taking my pickup again. I will turn it over to 90,000 in the next couple weeks. What should I look at and replace for preventive measures.

Thinks I know I want to do are
1 New plugs - have done tons of reading thinking just staying with stock
2 Tires - Going to just have mine rotated and balanced then come winter new tires.
3 Also have a Aeroforce gauge coming I’m putting in but didn't buy that for the trip.

I will be good on motor oil but should I change my transmission and differential oil? I have yet to touch that stuff (other then checking levals often) and I bought the pickup with 45,000 miles on it 1.5 years ago.

What else should I look at and replace?

Definitely would change both transmission and diff fluids 45K on them and who knows
if they were ever changed.

Opps Sorry was told they were changed at 30,000. But I don't trust my dealer to much anymore (probally why they lost dodge)

With it being summer my first thoughts would be to do a radiator flush and change the thermostat on a higher milage vehicle prior to a long road trip.

Do all the above mentioned especially the transfer case. Thats like a 10 min easy job to do if you have 4x4.
I'd also do a quick brake check. Pads, rotors etc and a brake fluid level check.
You could go a little overboard and do a brake fluid flush, as that stuff you have in there is a little old.

I would go ahead and do the 90k mile maintenance procedure as in the owners manual prior to the trip which basically is all fluids, plugs, etc...

At 90kmi and being the fluids were done that long ago....I'd pony up some pennie's out of your piggy bank and get everything done.
I hate going by the owners manul for maintenance stuff. They are set-up to make the dealer money IMO and aren't always the best advice for the customer. Take Ford for example, they tell their customers that the rear diff fluid in ALL of their trucks never need to be changes and are lifetime fluids...LMAO...also, they say for their FWD cars that the trans fluid never needs to be changed either...LMAO...I think not. Hell, I opened up a Ford rear diff at 86kmi on my neighbors truck and OMG...I didn't even put the cover bac on until he saw what the inside looked like. It was fairy heaven with all the glitter effects going on...He has severe wear on his pinion bearing and his ring gear was trashed.
Coolant..every 50-100kmi or every 5yrs
Transmission..depends on use..Light-100kmi...Normal-moderate-50-75kmi..Heavy-50kmi
Differentials..light use(highway)-30kmi... heavy use/city-15kmi
Transfercase-same as diff's
spark plugs-30kmi
power steering flush-100kmi
Brake flush-100kmi

make sure your airfilter is clean. That's prob the easiest way to help your mileage out on a long drive. Also, changind all those fluids...You should see a jump in mpg's as well because your fluid are old and are either beginning to or already are broken down which create friction that raises heat and reduces efficiency.

Yep, all fluids by now. Whatever you decide to do, make sure it's done-done at least a week before you leave. Not fun to be 500 miles from home and have to deal with what would have been a minor annoyance turning into a MAJOR hassle.

Ok thanks everyone this is what I’m going to do.

1. Change Oil
a. Transmission - going to do just a drop pan and change the filters and I'm going to go with mopar oil filters. Might have a plug welded into the pan for easier change next time.
b. Transfer case oil - seems straight forward only problem is trying to get the drain plug out with exhaust in the way.
c. Differential oil (front and back)- Remove pan and clean them out good make sure there is not to many shavings.
d. Engine coolant I'm going to have to take a look at and see how it looks.
E. Brake fluid - Will have to take a look at that also. (will read how to flush it)
F. Power steering - also has not been making any noise and will see how that looks. (going to do some reading on how to flush it though)

2. Tires
a. Rotate and Balance
B. Check pressure to 35-40psi
c. Going to check the brakes over and see how they are but they still feel really good.

3. Plugs
a. Going to go with the stock Champion plugs and change all 16 of them.

4. Air filter
a. I have a K&N, so going to take that off clean it and redo the oil on it.

5. Belt
a. Not going to change mine because it still looks good but I’m going to get one to keep in the truck.

I plan on doing this all within the next week. I should be able to get the plugs, diff oil, Trany oil, and transfer case oil easily done in a day. Sounds like the plugs are harder to do then the oil.
